The Role

The Management Accountant will lead the finance department on a day-to-day basis, be responsible for producing the monthly management accounts, supporting other members of the finance department, and maintaining the ledgers.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the finance team and daily tasks:
  • Debtors/creditors and general ledger maintenance
  • Credit/Soldo cards
  • Credit Control
  • Bank Reconciliation
  • Purchase Ledger payment runs
  • Payroll & Commissions calculations
  • Intercompany
  • Month end journals
  • Accruals
  • Prepayments
  • Deferred Income
  • Depreciation
  • Fixed Asset Register maintenance
  • Balance sheet reconciliations & bridging reporting
  • VAT Returns
  • Present board pack back to directors
  • Analyse and provide commentary on board pack/management accounts
  • Cashflow
  • Budgets
  • Assist with year end
  • Improve processes and systems within the finance department4
  • Develop, coach and train team members
  • Lead on managing team resources to meet objectives
  • Produce and report weekly team performance reports
  • Support with development of team strategy and action plan
  • Lead on implementation of team strategy and action plan
  • Provide input to SLT as required
  • Define, own, and lead on team targets
  • Manage team KPIS
  • Build/recruit a team and foster a high performing culture
  • Work closely with other employees across departments

Relevant Experience

· Experience of Microsoft office packages, with strong excel skills

· Experience of Sage Accounting Packages

· 2+ years’ experience within a similar role

. AAT Qualified and working towards CIMA/ACCA or QBE
