Job Description:
Are you passionate about ensuring safety and compliance in critical industrial environments? Do you have a keen eye for detail and strong communication skills? We are currently seeking four Safety Case Advisors on behalf of our client, to support the Swarf Storage Silos (MSSS) Safety Case workstream. In this role, you will play a pivotal role in the preparation, implementation, and maintenance of the Safety Case for MSSS, working closely with the Safety Case Manager (SCM) and collaborating with various stakeholders.
You will also play a pivotal role in supporting various sectors, including nuclear decommissioning, power generation, new construction, and defence. Your work will contribute to the advancement and prosperity of the UK’s nuclear and defence sectors while addressing the nation’s energy needs and infrastructure development.
The project’s duration will span between 3 to 10 years, with contracts being renewed on a 12-month basis. This is a hybrid role, involving 3 days of office work and 2 days of remote work. Our clients office locations are situated in Cumbria, Warrington, and Bristol.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert safety case advice and produce high-quality documentation for the development and implementation of the MSSS Safety Case, adhering to SL Safety Case Process Requirements. Ensure that the safety case is presented in a clear and user-friendly manner for all stakeholders.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and execute safety assessments, including activities related to the broader safety case such as engineering schedules, operator instructions, maintenance guidelines, and training packages.
- Facilitate effective communication among relevant stakeholders during the verification process of the safety case.
- Represent the SCM by presenting safety case documents to safety committees as needed.
- Take charge of overseeing the production and completion of Safety Case Implementation Plans (SCIPs).
- Produce, support the production of, or review Project Management Plans (PMPs).
- Assist in delivering operator briefings regarding safety case changes.
- Support engagements with regulatory bodies and other external stakeholders pertaining to the facility’s safety case.
Requirements:
- Excellent communication and report writing skills.
- Strong organisational abilities to manage and track deliverables.
- While familiarity with SL safety case processes is beneficial, it is not mandatory, as you will receive training as part of the role.
