My client is a medium size, multi-disciplinary law firm in Manchester City Centre who are further expanding their large FMS Team with the addition of Paralegals to work within their Pre-Litigation arm of the team. With a strong focus on Financial Mis-selling, they also focus on HDR, Industrial Disease, Immigration, Breach of Contract, Financial Mis-selling, Clinical Negligence to name a few areas.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
The purpose of the Paralegal will be focused on the Litigation stages of Financial Mis-selling matters to a high standard. Working closely with Team Leaders, Solicitors and Paralegals to ensure client matters receive the due diligence and attention required to provide the greatest chance of success.
The successful candidate will be an experienced Paralegal with a proven track record of managing a case load of claims. The ideal candidate must have at least 12 months experience within a claims environment, exposure to CRM technologies such as Proclaim would be advantageous, however not essential training will be provided
- Managing a litigated caseload
- Experience handling either PCP, UDC, PPI, Energy Claims and other financial mis-selling products would be advantageous.
- Experience working towards KPIs, time recording and financial goals of the department
- Maintain client records and contact information, via our Case Management system Proclaim
- Handling client matters and requests and keeping clients updated from initial enquiry to completion of their matter.
- Liaise with and instruct experts and counsel where necessary
- Assist in the business development and growth of the department.
- You will possess excellent client service skills refined from experience within a similar environment.
- Having an empathetic nature and displaying a duty of care towards clients, especially those who may be deemed vulnerable and distressed.
- Excellent time management, prompt, and clear communication internally and externally.
The successful candidate must have:
- LLB – Required / LPC – Desired
- An efficient and reliable production of results
- Possess excellent communication skills, internal and external, written and vocal.
- The ability to always maintain professional conduct
- Time-management skills
- Computer literate/Microsoft packages/email/CRM
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Professional appearance and manner
