Our client is a growing Law firm specialising in housing litigation, representing tenants living in sub-standard accommodation, swiftly bringing landlords and associations to account. With an increase in client instructions due to their success and strong track record, this growth comes an opportunity for experienced Solicitors & Fee Earners with solid litigation experience within Housing Condition matters.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- The successful applicant will work closely with the Compliance Officer for Legal Practice (COLP), ensuring adherence with the terms and conditions of the business
- Dealing with claims, complaints, DSARs and any associated litigation
- Maintaining and updating various central risk registers e.g. complaints, professional indemnity notifications
- Liaising with other members of Business Support Group in relation to relevant projects
- Assisting file reviews
- Compliance with the firm’s AML/CDD procedures and conducting relevant research.
- Conducting ad-hoc research in all areas of risk management#
- Keeping up to date with legal and regulatory guidelines and changes.
The Successful Candidate:
- The successful applicant will possess strong communication skills, written and verbal. Wielding a sharp legal eye in respect of regulatory compliance
- Some Housing Disrepair experience is preferrable, but not essential
- 5 years of Litigation experience
- Prior use of Proclaim would be advantageous
- Knowledge of the Law particularly in relation to Housing Disrepair
- Familiar with the regulations and professional standards applicable to a law firm
- An understanding of compliance and risk issues
- Confident in dealing with senior management and partners of the firm
