Title: Costs Paralegal
Salary: £23,000 – £25,000 [dependant on experience]
Location: Manchester city centre
Work: Full-time [Mon-Fri]

Our client is a thriving multi-disciplinary claimant law firm based in Manchester city centre who have been navigating strong growth especially over the last couple of years growing from 50 – 200 staff across multiple practice areas. The firm has a strong source of work and requires a passionate and dedicated Solicitor to handle our clients Immigration matters to a high standard.
Duties and Responsibilities:
As a Costs Paralegal you will be responsible for the preparation of fast-track Bills of Costs to include detailing the work done in the case, item-by-item, and producing a narrative that briefly describes what has occurred within the case. Assessing offers of settlement and negotiation to achieve best possible outcome.
- Ad-hoc administration tasks as and when required.
- Action, manage and appropriately respond to incoming communications – e-mail and phone.
- The Costs Paralegal position will be working closely with the Costs Draftsmen and Costs Lawyers in comprehensive assessment of cases, bill drafting, negotiations & recovery of legal costs in disputes involving the fast track and fixed costs matters.
- Preparation of Costs only Court Proceedings and accompanying documents.
- IT literate with a good working knowledge of Excel and Word. Previous knowledge or experience of a case management system would be an advantage but is not essential

- Able to demonstrate strong team working skills and that they are a flexible and self-motivated team player
- Maintain excellent organisational skills whilst being able to effectively prioritise and organise a busy workload.
- Possesses excellent analytical skills, as it is necessary in the role to gather and analyse substantial amounts of data.
Skills & Qualifications
- My client will consider candidates with no direct costs experience if they possess comparable litigation experience [Housing Disrepair preferable]
- Good working knowledge of Costs Law and Housing Disrepair matters
- Knowledge of Proclaim case management & Costs Master software (desirable).
